Travel Alert: COVID-19 Update

COVID-19 (March 25, 2020)

COVID-19 is top of mind for all of us in the travel and hospitality industry. The Public Health Agency has currently assessed that the overall risk to Canadians is increasing and we all need to do a better job at slowing the growth of infected citizens.  Here at the Chateau Victoria, we are making every effort to ensure the safety of our hotel guests and employees, which includes additional communication and preventative measures as recommended by the BC Center for Disease Control.

Both Clive’s Classic Lounge and Vista 18 will remain closed until further notice, as well as our in room dining.  For in room guests, please note that there are several great restaurants offering take out and delivery nearby.  Facilities such as the pool and exercise room will remain closed as well as enhancements like public coffee and water stations.

Our enhanced cleaning procedures have been enacted and we are focusing on continual sanitation throughout the property. Regular communication with both our employees and our guests continues, providing information on the recommendations as provided by provincial health authorities, to reduce the likelihood of catching and spreading the virus.

Our guests are provided information on the symptoms of COVID-19, where to seek medical attention if they are sick, and the requirement to notify hotel management immediately if they suspect they may have the virus. The Chateau Victoria will report all known or suspected cases of COVID-19 to the BC Centre for Disease Control or the BC Ministry of Health immediately after becoming aware of any such case, and will enact our procedures for immediate quarantine and intense sanitation processes if such a situation should occur.

We believe in open transparency in this situation, and if it is known that a guest or employee who has been present at the hotel has COVID-19, this information will be openly shared with as much detail as is known.

To our valued guests with current, future or potential stays booked with us, we will continue to monitor this situation closely and will update our notice as adjustments are necessary. Please be assured that under these unique circumstances, your cancellation fees arising out of this situation will be waived.
